Summer Maintenance for your Jeep

Brought to you by Classic CDJR

The sun is shining, the air feels warmer, the flowers are finally blossoming, and all these signs mean it is finally summertime. We know you can’t wait to load up your Jeep Gladiator with fishing poles and coolers and spend an afternoon fishing rainbow trout at Hogback Ridge, but before you go and do that you’re going to want to make sure your Jeep is ready to handle all the fun activities that come with summertime. There are a few things you need to do to make sure your Jeep is ready for summer fun including checking on your air conditioning system, your cooling system, oil, and more. Down below we’re going to be going into detail about everything you need to do to make sure your Jeep is ready for summer.

What do I need to do to get my Jeep ready for summer?

Cooling System

It can get very hot here in Madison, OH, during the summer, and your engine bay can get a whole lot hotter, which is why you need to make sure the cooling system on your Jeep is running in tip-top shape. After every two years, you should have your cooling system flushed and refilled with coolant. In between that time, you should always make sure that none of the hoses are cracked, that all your connections are secure, and that you always have enough coolant.
Air Conditioning

Even though the Jeep Wrangler and the Gladiator offer open-air freedom you’re still going to want to make sure your air conditioning system is working for those days you decide to leave your roof and doors on. One of our techs in our service department will gladly look over your air conditioning unit to make sure everything is working in tip-top shape and they can also replace your cabin air filter with a new one.
Windshield Wipers

Your wipers are put to the test during the winter months with all the snow and again in the spring with the excessive amount of rain that brings on the beautiful flowers we see in the summertime. After all that hard work it’s most likely time to retire the set of wipers you’ve had on your Jeep and put on a brand new set. While your Jeep is already in our shop for a checkup, one of our techs will be happy to swap out your old wipers for a new set that won’t leave streaks on your windshield.
