2021 Jeep Cherokee vs Toyota RAV4

With SUVs being one of the most popular vehicle choices, it stands to reason that there are going to be a solid number of choices available to the consumer. The problem is with so many choices on the market; it can be difficult to decide when it comes time to buy a new vehicle. That’s where we come in! We will compare two of the most popular SUVs out there today, the 2021 Jeep Cherokee and the 2021 Toyota RAV4, and see which one comes out on top. That way, you can make an informed decision when the time comes to choose your next vehicle!

2021 Jeep Cherokee Power & Handling

The Jeep Cherokee comes with a few compelling engine options that please everyone’s tastes. The base Latitude comes with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that gives you 180 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque. This engine comes paired with a smooth sailing nine-speed automatic transmission and the option of front-wheel or all-wheel drive. Higher trims give you the option of a 3.2-liter V6 that pumps out 271 horsepower and 239 lb-ft of torque or a turbocharged 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that has 270 and an amazing 295 lb-ft of torque. Both of these engines have the nine-speed automatic and the choice of front-wheel or all-wheel-drive as well. The V6 engine is standard on the Traihawk. If you need to tow something, the Cherokee can haul up to 4.500 pounds.

2021 Toyota RAV4 Power & Handling

Only one engine is available for the Toyota RAV4, and it’s a four-cylinder engine that makes 203 horsepower and is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive comes standard on most trims, but you do have an all-wheel-drive option if you choose. If you go with either the Adventure or the TRD Off-road trim, the RAV4 comes standard with an upgraded all-wheel-drive system that provides you with enhanced traction, which comes in handy on slippery surfaces and bad weather conditions. While there is a lot to like about this engine, the lack of options is certainly disheartening.

2021 Jeep Cherokee Features & Design

Five trims levels are available for the Jeep Cherokee, and each comes with a ton of features. Kicking things off is the Latitude trims, which has power front windows, exterior mirrors with a heating element, supplemental turn signals, courtesy lamps, a rearview camera, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Latitude Plus adds to this with heated front seats, premium-wrapped heated steering wheel, remote start, keyless entry, and push-button start. Higher-level trims add more luxury features such as Nappa leather seats, power front seats with power lumbar adjuster, and a windshield wiper de-icer. If you are looking for more off-road features the Trailhawk trim is perfect for you as it comes with impressive off-road features such as an advanced all-wheel-drive system, wider wheels, all-terrain tires, and increased ground clearance.

2021 Toyota RAV4 Features & Design

There are six trim levels available for the RAV4, and there are some interesting features to be had. Starting things off is the LED trim, which comes with LED headlights, a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a six-speaker sound system. Stepping up to the XLE adds keyless entry and ignition, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and dual-zone automatic climate control. The XLE Premium builds upon this with a slightly raised suspension, sunroof, a power liftgate, and soft-touch dashboard materials. Off-road features can be found on the Adventure and the TRD Off-Road trims, such as fender flairs, hill descent control, taller roof rails, all-terrain tires, and an off-road-tuned suspension. There is a lot to like about these features, but the Cherokee offers you more.

Conclusion:

While there is a lot to like about both of these SUVs, we will give the victory to the 2021 Jeep Cherokee. The Cherokee offers you more powerful engines, and there are more features in its five trim levels than the RAV4’s six. Want to take a test drive of the all-new Jeep Cherokee?
